Our Guesthouse & Team"El Rincón" is a beautiful place, a "hidden corner" beside a small, clean river in the countryside of the southern chilean Central Valley, 20 km. north of Los Angeles. The
restful gardens with oceans of flowers and many native
plants and the family atmosphere, the excellent meals
prepared by the owners, and attractive outdoor activities make this place
perfect to stay on the way north or south in Chile. |

| Here you can relaxand learn or improve your Spanish. The refreshing water of Huaqui river invites you to swim, to make a boat trip or to go fishing trouts. Take your siesta in a hammock, joined by a delicious cup of tea or real coffee. Meet interesting other visitors for dinner, introduced with a pisco sour or a glass of champagne. We always have updated tourist information as obvious as fair prices, our own detailed roadmaps and homemade trekking plans. We also offer rental cars at good prices. We, Elke
and Winfried Lohmar, both Germans, have been living in Chile
since 1990. In the beginning, we worked in the educational business. In
1993 we started our international guesthouse and received tourists from
all over the world.

| We offer cosy rooms, meals, Spanish lessons and very special excursions (on request with English speaking guide and car). We employ two women and a gardener from our neighborhood. Our security team (2 friendly dogs) makes you feel safe and welcome. The 2 hectar property is surrounded by small Chilean farms and native forests. We planted hundreds of flowers and trees and created two vegetable gardens, all strictly under ecological conditions. We run this place for 17 years without changing anything. So we don’t have TV in the rooms, prepare meals without microwave, there is no pool, but a clean and quiet river for swimming and fishing, and the Internet goes quiet slow. We hope our guests can enjoy that. Forget for a while the stress of tourism, sleep well, hang around, check our selected library (change your books) and our movie collection and use our hometrainer. Watch satellite TV, play some ping pong or take a bicycle: Just be yourself... "El Rincón" is positively mentioned in Lonely Planet, Footprint, Moon Travel and other travel guides. Contact us, we would be glad to see you here, you are welcome! Elke and Winfried |
